Sunshine Pet Food is one of the leading producers of high quality pet food and treats in the United States. We sell our variety of products throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, plus over thirty other countries worldwide.
Sunshine Mills, Inc. has developed through three generations of a truly American family business. With headquarters located in the rural north Alabama town of Red Bay, the company began as a producer of animal feed in 1949 under the direction of Omer Bullen and his son-in-law, Fred Bostick, Jr. The business continued to grow and pet food was added to the production lineup in 1960 in a pelleted form.
Sunshine Mills began extruding pet food in 1967. The company expanded rapidly and geographically under the guidance of John Bostick between 1971 and 1984. New products like puppy food, high protein, and cat food were added to the sales mix.
Alan Bostick took over the reins as President and CEO in 1984 and has continued the progress and foresight of his grandfather, father and brother.
The company has grown to 500 employees with dry food capacity exceeding 600 million pounds annually in three locations. In addition, Sunshine has two dog biscuit facilities, soft and chewy treat production and imports and distributes natural treats. Dollar sales for the current year are estimated between $150 - $200 million.
Today's products are marketed under numerous Sunshine brands as well as private label offerings to many of the key players in grocery, mass merchant, and dollar store formats.
Sunshine Mills continues to grow by stressing quality, value and service.
